What A Turn off!!

Today's topic is Turn offs.. and most of mine are the same as Jess, I think she summed it up pretty well. I'll try to be creative and think of some different ones, but it's been a long week and I'm tired.
Day 7: Four turn offs.

1. Cussing
  • A few words here and there are alright.. but drop the F-bomb and GD and peace out. That just does not fly with me. I mean everyone has slip ups, but when it gets to the point that your sentences hardly make sense you have so many cuss words ask yourself, "why is that really necessary?"
2. Chewing with your mouth open
  • Did you not learn anything as a child? Don't chew with your mouth open AND don't slurp your drink through your straw. No I don't like "SEE food" haha
3. Disrespect
  • I have a real problem with people who show no respect to other people, particularly their elders. This problem is more prevalent in high school because of the kids that just don't care and have no motivation for anything.. But I really can't stand to see a guy disrespect a girl. Or kids disrespect their parents.
4. Big Ego
  • I can't stand when people think they are THE BOMB dot COM and they just aren't. Glad you have confidence and all.. but dang. You are not God's gift to the world.

Anyways.. Tonight in the midst of my "biology lab study group" my friends from my freshmen dorm hall threw me a surprise party for my birthday. And I was definitely surprised because A) my birthday was a week and a half ago and B) I was 100% in study mode and not expecting it. Unfortunately I have no pictures because I forgot my camera of course.. but I will post some later. :) Sooo happy tomorrow is Thursday meaning.. 1 day closer to the weekend!!
Goodnight bloggers!

Meaningful people..

Blogging challenge Day 6, And it's hard to put into words how much these people mean to me.. I've never been good at writing this kind of stuff. Yearbook day was always the worst because I struggle putting my feelings into words.. but I'm giving it a shot.

Day 6: Five people who mean a lot to you.

1. My parents
  • I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents in my life. They understand the importance of school and good grades, and unlike many other college students I don't have the pressure of working on top of schoolwork. They're always there for me when I'm having a bad day, and make it THAT much harder every time I have to leave home and go back to school.

2. Mallory
  • Well I already wrote to your sweet little self in the first day of blogging challenge.. So I'll try not to repeat everything I already said.. I'm so blessed to have a little sister like you. I know I was a bossy big sister when you were little, so I'm sorry for forcing you to be my student when we played school. But you know it was fun, and you learned algebra at age 6, so you can thank me for that! :) Love you little Mal!!

3. Ally
  • Wellst.. you and me are apparently sisters separated at birth because we have WAY too much in common. To the point that it's extremely weird, but I totally love it. I'm so happy I have you to act like a fool with because otherwise, I don't know how I would get through all the misery that college inflicts on our lives. I love you my S.S. and I can't wait for all of the memories we have ahead of us!

4. Jessica
  • It's hard to believe that we haven't even known each other a full year because it seems like a lifetime! You are one of the sweetest and most beautiful people I know and I'm so happy we have gotten to know each other so well, and share a love for John Mayer. ;) I wish so badly we could rewind to those good days of summer.. but I'm excited about us cooking dinners on thursdays!! Love you!
5. Patrick
  • I don't know where I'd be without you pT, you have been there for me through everything and you truly are my best friend. Who would've known that such a wonderful friendship would grow out of a freshmen homecoming date? You know how to cheer me up, calm me down, and most of all you tell me sweet things when I need to hear them most. I love you sweet boy! :)
Happy tuesday everyone!! :)

Wish I May..

Day 5 of the blogging challenge.. and this really is getting challenging!! I don't really have anything I regret so I'm just going to do things I wish.. So here we go!

Day 5: Six things you wish you could change or wish you would have never done.

1. I wish I was more outgoing
  • I'm definitely not good at opening up to people I don't know very well.. I've always envied the people who can just talk to a wall. I have trouble striking up conversation with just anyone. But once I know you.. I don't shut up, and the jokes keep rolling.
2. I wish I could play guitar
  • I grew up taking piano lessons.. and I tried taking guitar lessons for about a month and it was an epic fail. I can't figure out how to strum the thing. Sooo embarrassing. I listen to music and just wish I could pick up a guitar and play it. AND.. guitars are portable instruments, I can't just tote a piano around in my trunk.
3. I wish I could dance
  • I dance like a white girl. Mama has always said it, and I have no rhythm. Plus, I feel like I look stupid. I envy all those girls (like my roommate emily) who can just get up and learn a dance at the drop of a hat. Not. fair. Oh.. and dancing like the dancing with the stars instructors would be a great party trick!
4. I wish I didn't get stressed so easily
  • I stress sooo easily with school. I just want to make A's in everything and I have to accept the fact that an A isn't always possible in some of these classes. I make myself sick over my grades with all of my worrying and it needs to quit.
5. I wish I didn't have to study
  • College would be much more if studying wasn't involved. It sucks the fun out of everything. The end.
6. I wish I had better self discipline
  • From eating, to going to the gym.. this would just be really helpful in my life. I have a problem that when a meal tastes really good.. I don't listen to my brain and I just keep eating because it tastes so good! (And it's never as good heated back up.. right?) And.. dieting? doesn't work for me.. I end up craving brownies or some DQ and get myself in trouble.

Whoops...

Well I planned to blog my Day 4 of the blogging challenge last night.. but we ended up having a girls movie night and watched Remember Me and Time Traveler's Wife.. and before I knew it, it was 1am and I hadn't blogged. So.. I'm a failure at the challenge. But I'm picking back up and doing Day 4 & 5 together today. Forgive me. :)

Day 4: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
1. What's for Dinner
  • I have always driven my mom crazy because I ask this question until I get an answer. I'm all about food.. So I always have to have my next meal planned. I have to know what to crave.. because you can't be craving a cheeseburger and then be eating Mexican for dinner.
2. Do I have time for a nap?
  • The answer to this question is usually no. But I always think about it.. pretty much as soon as I wake up every morning.. At what point can I possibly squeeze in a nap today. I love naps. :)
3. My hair annoys me.
  • Every morning this goes through my mind.. and every afternoon when I get back from class and it's gotten messed up from walking 20 minutes up a gigantic hill to class. My hair gets frizzy and it grows SOOOO incredibly slow it frustrates me.
4. Will we have a pop quiz today?
  • Usually my thought every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is because my organic professor loves surprising us with pop quizzes over super hard material that we may have "lightly" touched on in the previous class. It's good in the fact that it keeps you on your toes.. but bad because I'm not always ON my toes.. and it makes my blood pressure go out the roof the first 10 minutes of class.
5. What am I going to wear today?
  • The Majority of my morning this runs through my mind. I'm one of the most indecisive people EVER, so deciding on what to wear is a daunting task. I probably go through 3 outfits before I ever decide.
6. What's on my to Do List.
  • I'm big into making To Do Lists.. because if I don't I tend to forget things. So during class when I get bored and start zoning out.. I usually think of everything I need to get done and jot down my "To Do List" for the day. Unfortunately, it never seems to all get done.. but regardless.. I think about it.
7. What am I going to write in my blogpost?
  • I always have trouble deciding what to post about.. and sometimes I get lazy about it because it can be time consuming. But I usually plan my blogpost out before I sit down at the computer :)

Well Day 5's topic is going to be a little harder than I thought.. So I'm going to have to think on that one and blog it later :) I gotta hit the library for some studying.. fun fun.

I just can't live without..

Day 8 of the Blogging challenge! And today's topic:
8 Things I can't live without!!
  1. My Friends & Family- They get me through everything!
Since the Christmas card picture from the other day was a hit.. I put up another from the same year! :)

2. My macbook- Can't live without facebook & blogger. :)
3. Poo-pourri- Yeah.. basic necessity of life. It's this little bottle of MAGIC that you spritz in the toilet bowl before you go #2.. and like magic there is no odor. Basically got me through dorm life.. and now it's a must have. It apparently coats the water with oils that trap in the poo stink.. and then when you flush it the good smell goes into the air. TMI.. but you need to own some. All my friends are hooked now. :)
4. Sweet Tea- Because I'm Southern.. I gotta have me a glass of iced tea to cool off!
5. Music/iPod- For relaxation.. and jam time.

6. Pilot ballpoint pens- They are the only kind I can use for my notes.. and I stash them away when people ask to borrow pens because if I don't have one for my notes I freak out. They make my handwriting look better.. and they just write perfectly!
7. My plush fleece pink blanket- I love cuddling up with blankets.. so I HAVE to have my soft blanket for napping, reading, and falling asleep at night.

8. DESSERT- I have to have a sweet something after every meal.. I'm tryin to work on this.. but I just crave dessert.

Now I'm heading out for a hiking adventure with Jess & Ally. Kicking off our weekend with a BANG! :)

You might not know...

Day 2 of the Blogging challenge.. and this one really WILL be a challenge because I can never think of 9 things about me that are really interesting. So here it goes..

9 Things about Myself that You probably Don't Know...

  1. My car smells like crayons. Straight up crayola. No, I don't have melted crayons in my car.. it's just has always smelled like that. I drive a Red VW bug with black leather.. so maybe it's the leather? who knows.. but on hot days it makes my hair just soak up that crayola scent and it STINKS.
  2. I absolutely despise getting ready for the sole purpose of drying hair. Drying my hair makes me so hot.. I just dread it! Everything else doesn't bother me.. but that 5 minutes of heat ruins it.
  3. I love watching TV but I never have time anymore. Some of my absolute favorite shows are GLEE, The Office, Modern Family, The Middle, One Tree Hill, and The Apprentice. I wouldn't last one day working for Donald Trump.. I would cry as soon as he started talking to me... which leads to number 4..
  4. I'm extremely sensitive. The littlest things get me upset. (Thank goodness Ally is the same way, because we can comfort each other through the dumb tears)
  5. I also am very easily stressed.. driving and having to make a left turn across traffic REALLY stresses me out. Blood Pressure rises and everything haha.. I try to avoid making left turns as much as possible.. even if it means taking a longer route.
  6. My bed is always made before I walk out the door. If it isn't made, my day just can't begin properly.
  7. I have to sleep with my fan on.. even if it's the dead of winter, I have to have that sound to help me sleep. And the room has to be pitch black. I CANNOT sleep with the TV on.
  8. I've never been pulled over.. probably because I'm such an overly cautious driver. But hey.. it works.
  9. My dream job is to own a bakery with Ally, with a gift shop next door. One day it will happen. :)
Hope everyone's having a great Thursday!! I am so happy tomorrow is Friday.. I live for my relaxing weekends! )

Blogging Challenge

Two blogs I follow have started doing the 10 day blogging challenge so I decided to join in the fun because my life is pretty boring right now :) You should definitely check out their blogs because they are adorable! Kristen @ all in my twenties & Jess @ Polka Dots, Pearls, & Pink.. OH MY!

So for the next 10 days I'll be blogging about these:

Day 1: Ten things you want to say to ten people right now.
Day 2: Nine things about yourself that most people don't know.
Day 3: Eight things you couldn't live without.
Day 4: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day 5: Six things you wish you could change or wish you would have never done.
Day 6: Five people who mean a lot to you.
Day 7: Four turn offs.
Day 8: Three turn ons.
Day 9: Two words that describe your life right now.
Day 10: One confession.

So Day 1.
10 Things I want to say to 10 People..

1. Ally- I am so happy we have gotten close this summer and are roommates. You are one of THE funniest people I know, and I'm so glad I have someone to act like a complete moron with. One of these days we WILL be on food network together and we WILL open our bakery. :)
2. jEh- I am so sad we never get to see each other after spending practically everyday together this summer.. why does life have to be so hectic?! Waterfall hunting soon?! yes.

3. Dr. Thompson- please spare us poor, terrified, chemistry students from your horrendous and complex organic problems. We don't have the DR. in front of our names to make us as smart as you! :)

4. Elephants upstairs- Your stomping, and whatever else it is you do each day, has run my patience VERY thin. If I had a backbone I would have long ago stormed into your apartment and beat you with my broom, since banging it on the ceiling seems to do no good. :)

5. Chick across the hall from us- How are you not gonna let us have an egg for our brownies? You told us yourself you have half a carton left. Don't expect any favors when you need a 1/4 cup of oil for your brownies. Boooyah.
6. Mal- I can't get over that you're already a sophomore, and I just want you to know how proud I am to call you my sister. You are beautiful, smart, and set a perfect example for others. And you can drive a stick and I can't.. sooo props to you. I can't wait to see all you accomplish. I love you! :)

7. Lady on the Stairstepper- You are insane. I wish my legs could look as good as yours.. but there is no way I'm spending 45 minutes on that thing. You go girl!

8. Freshman girl in my math class- Quit acting like you know everything.. some of us haven't had this math in a few years and you just got out of it in high school. So congrats on your 97 on the test, you can stop bragging now. Thanks.

9. Chick who stole my parking spot in the parking lot, and proceeded to laugh at me- Thanks for whipping into the spot while I was sitting there waiting for it.. and then thanks for faking the whole "backing out" after you took the spot and then sat in the parking spot to laugh at me. If I was a mean person I would have left boogers on your door handle.. but karma will get you. Just wait. You. are. mean.
10. Mama & Daddy- Thanks for believing in me and pushing me to do my best. I know it takes a lot of patience to listen to me gripe about chemistry, but you are the best. I love ya'll. And I miss being at home. :(

p.s. That picture of our family was intended to look stupid.. cheesy christmas cards are the best. (We don't REALLY dress like that haha)

Bookworm

After having a crazy week last week, this week has been so relaxing! Not much schoolwork.. and time to actually sit down and read. I'm a total bookworm.. and My family has gotten hooked to Swaptree, a website where you swap books with other people, and we have books coming in the mail weekly! Me and mama go into barnes and noble and just make lists of books we want.. go back home and put them on swaptree and within days it finds matches for you and you have a book in the mail. One of these books was Redeeming Love..

I just started it this week and I'm already halfway through it.. it is such a great book! If you need a good book to read I recently finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and I HIGHLY recommend it. It was fabulous! :)
Have any of ya'll read these books? Or have good suggestions for other reads? Because at this rate.. I'm gonna need some more books soon! :)

Not a teen anymore..

Yesterday was my Birthday.. the big 2-0. And I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit emotional about the whole growing up, not being a teenager thing. (Ally understands because we both get emotional about dumb stuff) haha I had a wonderful birthday though! Mama made my very favorite, her caramel cake! and we made homemade pizzas which were absolutely delicious. She even got fresh mozzarella and pesto.. yumm!!
Our pizza before the oven!
Me & Mal while we waited for our pizza!
The final product!
And the delicious caramel cake on the birthday plate! :)

Then it was present time!
I got a Southern Belle shirt! (After being envious of Mal's for a good month!)
Sporto's for those rainy days at college.. because I am OVER rainboots after last year's month of monsoons!
And A Columbia Fishing Shirt.. I am so excited about this! It feels SOOO good.. and I'm hoping I can pull it off with some leggings. :)

Then I headed back to school and caught Ally & Emily, (my sweet, sweet roommates), painting signs for my room.. and they hung them over my bed.. so cute!
It says "treeshie" because we're weirdos and have ghetto-fabulous names for each other ;)
And they gave me the prettiest monogram ring! But it's too big :( so we're gonna have to go order the size I need. But they are just the greatest! And Ally also drew me a big picture full of our inside jokes and great memories together, the picture doesn't do it justice because it was hard to photograph..
It has our cheesy song for each other and loads of funny memories.. she cracks me up! All in all I had such a wonderful birthday! I am so blessed to have such sweet friends and family in my life. :)
