Can I redo MY Senior Year.... Please?

So yesterday I got to see my sister's Senior Portraits that she had taken over the weekend... (which I blogged about here.) and holy smokes.

She looks so old!!! It's crazy, crazy, CRAZY. I can't get over how gorgeous they are... and I really want to redo my Senior Year of High School so I can have my senior portraits done again.. and just experience the fun festivities all over again. ;)

SO now prepare yourself for Picture overload.. because I'm obsessed and have to show off my gorgeous little sister.

-This one is hands down my favorite-

and I'm done showing off her pictures... I can't help that I'm proud :)

2 Years of Blogging.

Today marks 2 years that I've been apart of the blogging community.
Boy, that is hard to believe.

I still remember sitting in my room reading blogs every night before I actually decided to join blogger, and I'm so thankful that I decided to take the plunge one night in my little shoebox room at Summer school.

I remember sitting down to write my first post, snapping pictures every time I went out to do things, and planning my blog posts during each of these outings. I remember when I got my FIRST follower. There is nothing like seeing that first little follower show up on your blog, and it just pushed me to pour my little heart out even more.

I can't believe how much my humble little blog has grown over these past two years, and I can't even begin to tell you how much each of you mean to me. I have been so lucky to have met so many of you wonderful ladies through this amazing blog land. :) And I feel privileged to be apart of something so unique and special because of ALL of you.

Thanks for being apart of my blogging journey, I can't wait to see what the next year holds.

Sig Figs

Calling all of my fellow Science Nerds...
Over the course of my college career I've been fortunate enough to take NUMEROUS science classes. (too many to count) and in each of these we've used the beloved Significant Figures.

Every professor has always taught it the same way. UNTIL now.

Apparently my professor this summer invented his own form of sig figs, because on our homework assignment this week the entire class missed the question. (Meaning, 200 people) and he still refuses to change it.

Just have a look-see and see what you think:

Two significant figures to ME means that you would express the pH as 4.7 not 4.70... 4.70 is 3 significant figures from what I've been taught.

He claims that we could have always asked him about it if we were confused. WELL, I wasn't confused dude. There's nothing confusing about sig figs... until you decide your definition is different from every textbook and considered 2 to the RIGHT of the decimal point. Now I'm worried about what else I might think I know, that he has a different definition for, since our test is Monday.

I know it seems ridiculous to be so mad about it, but I would've had a 100 on this homework assignment (which I desperately need) and I deserve it because I did it RIGHT according to what significant figures are defined as.

I think he just doesn't want to admit that he's wrong.

Rant over.

Senior Year.

My little sister is going to be a senior in high school this coming school year.
Which is a little hard to digest.. I still remember the day she was born when I finally grasped the concept of what being a "big sister" meant. I remember going to the hospital and getting to see her tiny little self for the first time... and I remember treating her like she was my real life baby doll. I loved helping take care of her. I was ALL about the big sister role.

Over the past few years I've realized how much of an influence an older sibling really has on their younger sibling's life. Mal asks me for advice on so many things, and since I've been away in college the past few years it's been hard missing out on a lot of her big events.

One of which is her senior pictures this weekend.

My parents are photographers, as most of you know, and so when it comes to Senior Portraits... these are a big deal in our home. As in, we prepared for these for months now. Finding all of her outfits, getting all of her accessories FOR the outfits, and planning it all out.

We believe having Senior Portraits taken is one of the highlights of Senior year. And since my dad does it for a profession... we have never really experienced the whole excitement of going somewhere to have OUR portraits taken, since we can just do it ourselves in the studio. :)

So for senior year, Mama and Daddy let us choose a photographer whose work we loved. I chose Kirk Voclain my senior year, an outstanding photographer in Houma, LA and we made a family trip out of it. It was so fun to actually be able to experience having my portrait taken by someone other than my Daddy... and having new stuff done on backgrounds other than the one's I've always been photographed on. I know it sounds weird, but Senior year is all about experiences.. and Senior Portraits are one of those things I wanted to experience like everyone else gets to... so that's why we went somewhere else. And it was SO much fun.

Well this weekend Mallory is up in Tennessee having her Senior Portrait Experience, and I'm absolutely devastated that I don't get to be a part of such a momentous occasion. She's been the little sister that has been there for EVERYTHING for me. And I don't get to be there for her, with classes and work it just wasn't feasible this time. (Responsibility stinks.) So I'm stalking instagram to see the pictures they post from the big trip this weekend... and anxiously await seeing her portraits when they're finished, I know they'll look AMAZING.

But above all else, I'm looking forward to this exciting time in her life. Senior year of high school was one of my favorite years. Touring and applying to colleges, ruling the school, Homecoming Court, Senior nights, Senior Festivities, and living it up on the weekends with friends... what's not to love? I was so carefree as opposed to now. And I'm looking forward to Mallory making all of these great memories at my Alma Mater too.

Boom. There's my sappy post.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Blogstar: Hi, I'm Leslie.

Blogstar: Hi, I'm Leslie.

and welcome to my lovely little corner of the internet, Life in its Ordinary Form.

I'm....
A 21-year old,
pre-pharmacy student at UGA.
I started my blog after reading blogs for a while, and as a way to document life's happenings as I go through my 20's (and whatever comes next in life).

I love spending time with friends, cooking, instagram, going to concerts, spending time at the lake, shopping, reading good books, and being a complete dork.

You'll read a lot about those things on here.

I like to think I'm a positive person, and I believe in the power of a good Thank You note. I love nights out on the town, but enjoy lounging in my PJ's watching a good movie JUST as much.

You can check out some of my popular posts below:

I absolutely love finding new blogs! If you're new, I hope you'll stick around and follow my lovely nonsense life.. and comment so I can follow you back!

Weekends...

Weekends are never long enough for my liking.
This one really flew by, and now I'm in the midst of some hardcore studying and note-taking since my class has started.

But the weekend was wonderful while it lasted! I got to go visit Sarah, and meet the other bridesmaids in her wedding for our dress fitting. We all went to lunch together, and it was so nice to get to see her for a little while!

and then Saturday night Ben was in town, and we celebrated his friend's 21st with dinner at Agua Linda before hitting up downtown.

It was my first time meeting all of his friends, and being thrown into a loud setting on a 21st birthday with close friends is kind of tough... I'm not the best at conversation and situations like that. (Hello, I am an introvert.) But I would deem it a success.

Man, weekends need to last longer. :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Carnies

The Carnival came to our hometown this past week, so Friday my little sister and I went to enjoy being scrambled around in those crazy rides.

The lights of Carnival Rides at night is such a spectacular sight.
It's so magical.

The whirring of the rides, the scent of funnel cakes and popcorn, and the loud music accompanied by screams from the Scrambler and Tilt-a-Whirl.

But those Carnival workers are a class of their own, are they not?
I never knew they were nicknamed Carnies until our family had a discussion about it.
I know you shouldn't judge people, but you know when you go to a fair you feel a little uneasy with some of these characters. Just the term "Carnies" sounds gross to me. None of the particular workers at the fair in our town had teeth, or hygiene from the looks of it. Serious BO my friends.

So my friend Ben sent me this video after we joked about it, and I laughed so hard.

Gosh, y'all are probably thinking I'm so mean after this post.

But be honest, do you know what I'm talking about?! ;)
