Concert Season

We are back in Concert Season my friends.
As in, I have a butt load of concerts coming up in the next few weeks at the Georgia Theatre, and it makes my heart so happy.

Friday night we went to the Drive-By Truckers and it was such a great concert. Great friends, great venue, great band, all making it a great night. My hometown formed a huge portion of the crowd, so it was nice to dominate the floor. ;)

My ears were ringing for a good 24 hours after that concert. Epic.

Did you guys have a great weekend?!

Channeling My Inner Usher...

This has been a trying week for me.
Gettin me doooown, and that's not okay.

So here's to a vent session in the form of Friday Confessions.

- I'm too lazy to change the captions on pins I repin on Pinterest... and many times I'm embarrassed for the person who MADE the caption I'm repinning. (some are lame, don't lie.)

-Sponsorship posts in my google reader are wearing me OUT. I'm tired of scrolling through them, reading about them on twitter, and the likes. Over it.

-Call me immature, but I can't handle the giant projections of naked men and women standing in the Anatomical Position in my anatomy class. (Who are these people? What do their friends think of them being pictured naked in textbooks? Do their friends even know? haha!)

-I feel like I'm constantly a million miles behind when it comes to everything I need to have done. I don't understand how other people do it; Pharmacy applications, studying for the PCAT, extracurriculars, volunteer hours, work, AND finding time to study for your actual classes. With deadlines approaching I feel overwhelmed, and serious anxiety problems are coming on. Hence, why the blog is being neglected. :)

-People on campus running for the bus, with their backpacks, never fails to make me chuckle.

Happy Friday!
What are your fun plans for the weekend?!

Girl's Weekend

As you saw in yesterday's post,
Sarah and myself spent the weekend in the beautiful city of Savannah.

I hadn't been since 8th grade, so I had a blast walking around and being a total tourist.

We strolled along River Street, making a stop at River Street Sweets for some pralines and other goodies.

We had lunch at the Cotton Exchange Tavern overlooking the river before we headed up into the historical district for some serious sight-seeing.

We made a pit stop at Leopold's, and whadya know?
It was their 93rd birthday.. so we joined in the festivities and enjoyed ourselves some 93 cent ice cream cones.

Possibly some of the best ice cream I've ever had.

It was such a fun weekend, and ended far too quickly.
I definitely can't wait to head back to Savannah in just a few months for the Half Marathon now!
I'm kind of in love with that little city.

Savannah with some Lovely Ladies.

I'm back from Savannah!
and what a wonderful time we had.
I want to go back.... now.

Saturday night Sarah and I were able to meet Sonja for dinner at Jazz'd in Savannah. She drove up to meet us, and I am so thankful she did! She is one of the sweetest people ever, and we all had so much fun being nerds talking about blogging.

Jazz'd was a really good restaurant, we ordered Prosciutto wrapped Scallops, some Shrimp and Grits, Blackened Salmon... and a cheese dish that wasn't exactly a winner.

I love meeting bloggers, it's so wonderful to be able to see how authentic they really are on their blog. Sonja is the real deal. Love her.

Can't wait to share more from our trip tomorrow!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Back to the Grind.

Fall semester has officially begun.
It's back to the grind for this gal,
and as much as I've dreaded it... there's something about getting a syllabus and notebook in order that makes the chaos in life seem a little more organized.

I made these monograms for my binders today, so in love. Go to www.forchicsake.com and make your own!
Getting back in that routine, and having structure to the days again. It's kinda nice.
Campus is all abuzz,
and talks of football games are in the air.
Yeah, how can you not love the coming of Fall?

This semester I have some classes that I'm really looking forward to: Nutrition through the Life Cycle, Anatomy and Physiology, Micronutrients in the Body, and Cultural Foods Impact on Nutrition. I'm SO happy to be getting into the classes that really seem to be related to what I want to do.

I'm also pretty excited because every weekend from now through November I've got stuff going on. Which is kind of crazy busy... but it's making me look forward to everything this semester.

And what better way to kick it off than with a trip to Savannah with Sarah?!
It's going to be such a fun Girl's Weekend, and while we're there we're going to get to meet up with Sonja :) Can't wait.
[warning you now: I may be blowing up instagram with all of Savannah, GA's beauty this weekend]

Do y'all have any exciting weekend plans?!

Some Thoughts.

Lately I've been really drawn to my bible, and the book When God Writes Your Love Story.
It's like the two have been laying in the corner of my room just staring at me, begging me to open them up and feast my eyes on their pages.

So I have.
And it's amazing how fulfilling the words on those pages has been.

I read When God Writes Your Love Story (by Leslie and Eric Ludy) at the beginning of the year, but re-reading it has shed light on so many things I missed the first go round.

It seems like we all focus so much on planning our future wedding, laying out EVERY single detail, except really focusing on what the Lord wants for us in the most important part of our wedding day: our spouse.

We spend how much time pinning wedding ideas on Pinterest? Yet, how much time do we actually spend praying for our future spouse? Or time preparing our heart for them?

How can we expect a Prince Charming, when we ourselves don't live up to these standards we want in a partner. It's so important to be the person you are looking for, and I feel like that's one of those common sense ideas that we so easily forget. How do you find it acceptable to be searching for this perfect guy, when you yourself aren't living up to the same standards?

The book has a chapter that really focuses on praying for your future spouse, and it said to consider the fact that your spouse is out there somewhere, right this second. Crazy to think about, right? It just makes my heart swell with so much love thinking that my husband is walking around right now, and someday I'll meet him. :) Cheesy, but seriously, it's such a lovely thought. It makes it that much more REAL, of why it's so important to be conscious of decisions we make in relationships now.

I just had to share all of my little thoughts from the week.
Hope you all are doing just peachy on this fine Wednesday evening!

Freedom

As of 9:30 this morning, I have reached the Summer Freedom status I've been waiting for.
Biochemistry is OVER.
The final SUCKED.
And I don't care because.. it's OVER!!
I can finally watch the Olympics (now that I've missed half of my favorite events).
I can finally catch up on my blogging, and lounge by the pool with nothing hanging over my head.

This past week has been absolutely nuts.
I've been so busy studying for my final, and in the midst of it all we moved to a new apartment (which is Ahhhh-mazing.)
So as soon as we manage to get totally unpacked, I can't wait to share pictures.

There ended up being a glitch in our Uhaul rental, so we got the massive one instead of the regular size. So Legit.

Also, can I mention how much I love cheesy texts?
Ben always does the best raps... corny as all get out. I live for it.
So this one really made my morning when I got out of my final. :)

The kid's got skills.

Anyways, tonight Jasmine and myself are heading out for a celebratory dinner before meeting up with some friends downtown. and I. can't. Wait.

Happy Friday Friends!!
