Fresh Peaches & Summertime

One of my favorite things about summer is peaches!! And every Sunday night me and Ally take a trip to Walmart to stock up on peaches for the week. This week our peaches would not ripen so we stuck them in the window (because we were fresh out of brown bags) and we got a kick out of it when we were walking through the parking lot and saw our window full of peaches.

Last night, Jessica came over to watch the Bachelorette with us and the first thing she said was, "what the heck is that stuff in your window?!" So then we just thought it would be hilarious if we just bought a bunch of random fruit and lined the entire window with it... we like to entertain people in the parking lot. (even though i'm sure not many people notice)

But anyways.. Unfortunately I was only able to watch half of the Bachelorette last night, thanks to chemistry. But I definitely plan on watching the 2nd half that I missed online whenever I get the chance. I must say, Chris L. I AM SOLD!! You and your family are ADORABLE!! And I'm somewhat mad at ABC for spoiling the upcoming drama with Frank.. because obviously we know he's sticking around til they're in Tahiti since they showed that super dramatic and tearful scene with the two of them.. but oh well!

On another note.. I am counting down my days until the weekend.. Ally is leaving to day for the beach and I am so jealous! Especially because my family is leaving for the beach this weekend WITHOUT me!!! So meanwhile I'll just wish I was there.. soaking up the sun and reading some nice beach reads instead of solving equations for stuff I never even knew existed!

Lazy Lake Days

There is nothing better than a relaxing weekend at the lake.. and so thursday me, Ally, and Jessica went up to my lake house for the weekend. We spent the weekend floating in floaty chairs (get yours from here!) they are the best things ever invented.. especially on a hot day at the lake! And that night we went out to get some barbeque at one of the best barbeque restaurants ever. Then we spent our night watching season 1 of One Tree Hill.

and by the end of the weekend we had completed the entire season.. bring on season 2!! I love One Tree Hill but I just started watching 2 seasons ago.. so it's so interesting to start from the beginning and see the old episodes since I never have! :)

Saturday morning we headed out to the lake and came back up for a late lunch. Once we finished lunch we decided to go back down to the dock and grab our towels, and then run back to the house to take showers. Well when we made it back up to the house we found the door was locked!! We leave a sliding glass door open during the day when we're out on the lake, and there's a bar that we put between the doors to lock them. Well, when we shut the door the bar fell across and blocked the door from opening!! (hopefully that description works) and none of us had our cell phones, or a key, and my parents weren't coming up until that night! And it was only 3:00.. and 100 degrees! So we walked around the house trying to think "If I was a robber.. how would I break in?" and finally gave up because we obviously aren't robbers and knew no way of getting into a locked house! So we all sat down and read our books..

unfortunately, our cameras were also locked in the house.. so we weren't able to document our lockout scene. haha So i'll leave you with a picture of the book I'm reading right now.

Anyways.. we really wanted to get inside because at this point we had no idea what time it was getting to be.. we were sweating like crazy... and really wanted showers! So we tried to pick the lock with bobby pins.. and that didn't work AT ALL! So then I started shoving the sliding glass door and after a while it started to budge and get off its track.. and we found our way inside!!! It was the most hilarious thing! So now we know how to break in to a sliding glass door! The craziest things happen to us! Later that night, after my parents we got there we went to the B-SHOC concert.. which is another story entirely! So i'll save that for tomorrow!!

1 on the bucket list!

This week has been so CRAZY!! We've all started getting up at 7 to go workout, and then I end up having homework so late in the day that I don't have much free time. So I haven't had time to update.. but I have added my bucket list (along with Ally) that we plan to accomplish over the next year. And this week we were able to cross off our number 1!!

#1- Write name in cement on campus

We've been planning this out for a while, and since there is construction on campus we've been scoping out possible spots for a while now. But, every time they were paving something we could never time it right, because you can't exactly walk up and start writing your name while the poor guys are still smoothing it all out!

Well they happen to be adding a new sidewalk right outside of our on campus apartment, and tuesday morning when I was walking to class they were starting to pour the cement. About lunch time we went back out to see if they were done.. and all of the cement guys were gone!

Then that night there was a movie on the drill field.. with free popcorn and drinks! They have a giant blow up screen that they project the movie on. Unfortunately my picture didn't turn out too great because it was so dark outside.. but we did get a group picture!!

They played the movie Bounty Hunters.. and it was alright. But we ended up freezing halfway through because it cooled down more than we thought after the sun went down!

This weekend we're going to the lake together, and seeing a Christian rapper called B-SHOC at a fair.. if you have never heard of B-SHOC please youtube him and his song "Christ-like-Cruisin" it's hilarious! and very catchy!

food, friends, & fireworks!

Our campus hosts a big fireworks display every 4th of July, and this was the first year all of us have gone! We all packed a big picnic and went out to the drill field to claim our spot and eat delicious food. :)

Ally made some delicious limeade cupcakes, which are featured in this month's Paula Deen magazine ;) and when trying to spread out our picnic blanket.. clumsy me tripped and knocked the tupperware over. So Ally's beautiful creation turned into this mess:

While we waited for fireworks we had a fun time just people watching, I tell you what, you see some interesting people at public events! Sometimes you wonder where some of them come from! There was one guy dressed in hot topic type clothes.. but he had on a creepy wolf mascot's head and tail. We wanted to get a picture with him, but it was a little too creepy. haha
