Cake Balls

I tried my hand at cake balls Thursday,

and it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped.

I've seen all you fabulous bloggers make these GORGEOUS cake balls, and I wanted to give them a shot. Well, mine looked TERRIBLE. I don't know what I was doing wrong but they didn't dip into the chocolate and come out looking bakery perfect. They didn't dip easily at all, and I was over it at 5:15 when I trashed my first batch of chocolate and left to study chemistry. 

About 10:30 when I finished studying I had Ally go with me BACK to Walmart to get more chocolate for the dreaded cake balls that were waiting for me in the freezer. I'm talking a cookie sheet, and 2 round pans of like 60 cake balls! I was up until 1:00am finishing those darn things! A Big thanks to my sweet roommates, Ally & Emily, for helping me out, otherwise I would have lost my sanity.

So here's the results:

I did a chocolate fudge cake box recipe with fudge frosting, dipped them in white chocolate, and sprinkled the tops with Pink Williams-Sonoma Sanding Sugar from my amazing Pink Swap Partner Melissa!

These are the ones that didn't make the cut:

I made them for all of my friends from my dorm hall last year and I wrapped them up in a cute Valentines Bucket I got at Walmart on clearance for 25 cents!!

I used Paula Deen's cake ball recipe I found via google. 

Is there a better one out there?

or do y'all have any tips for the whole dipping process?

Because I really want to master these things!

I seriously had trouble concentrating in class today because my nails are so glittery, especially walking outside.. the sun makes them even sparklier! Ahh! Fabulous!

5. I am loving that I am done with exams for the week! Knocked out my lab practical an hour ago and that means I don't have to look at these pictures anymore:

My Handwriting.

I've seen a lot of bloggers out there do these handwriting posts...

Anyone Remember Myspace?

Ohhh the days of Myspace.

I was reminiscing through old myspace pictures today.. basically a summary of my high school years. There were the awkward kissy faces to mask the ugliness of braces, and the blonde highlighted hair. I tried reading the wall posts and they make ZERO sense because they're so full of inside jokes.

PROM junior year

The funniest thing about signing back on myspace is seeing that people STILL get on and update stuff... uhh.. myspace is old news folks. I thought had made the change to facebook! haha

I also used to have a Xanga.. and I updated that blog everyday with boring high school drama and icons on the reg. I just HATE that I deleted it, it would be so much entertainment now!

My Wednesday's are crazy!! But I am still LOVING...

1. I'm loving the amazing weather we've been having! 

It's so nice to walk to class without:

A. Blowing away in the wind

or 

B. Freezing to death during the WALK to class.. then sweating it up upon entering the buildings

2. That my sweet roommate Ally cooked us a delicious dinner tonight! It was a meal she grew up on, pepper steak, and I don't know about y'all.. but I love eating other people's family favorites! They always are so yummy!

3. That last night me and my friends: Sarah & Patrick took a night away from our O-Chem studies and had a celebratory MOVIE NIGHT!! We decided we needed to do something to celebrate our hard earned exam grades!

We saw Just Go With It.. and it was really cute! I just LOVE Jennifer Aniston.. and I desperately want her rocking body. (even though I just ate a bowl of cookies and ice cream...) haha

4. I'm sore from my jog yesterday.. I love being sore! I feel so accomplished! Even though I thought I was dying during my run.. I'm sadly out of shape :(

5. My current nail color: Plum Seduction by Revlon

6. That I'm about to catch up on GLEE Bieber Fever episode I missed and then hit the sack!
