So now I get to share 7 random facts about myself.. 

1. I've had braces twice, and wear my retainer religiously. Listen peeps.. I don't want braces again.. they are not fun! and not cute! I mean.. look at THIS brace face:

(Okay.. I'm not gonna lie.. I chose one of my better pictures with braces, because braces mixed with awkward freshman year of high school makes for embarrassing pictures. Forgive me! :) )

2. I despise calling people for business reasons.. like calling Barnes and Noble to see if they have a book I need.. or calling the auto repair shop to describe why my car won't crank. I hate it.. I feel like I'll say the wrong thing and they won't know what I'm talking about. 

3. Money burns a hole in my pocket! I wish I was a saver like my little sister.. but I just LOVE shopping! 

4. I was a lifeguard for 2 summers at the county pool.. I got a killer tan those summers! Oh how I wish I still had it! ;) But you can only imagine the kind of people you see at the public pools... you don't want to know the things I've seen!.. and the things I've had to clean up. It was a character builder. A true, character builder.

5. My family has always dreamed of being on the Amazing Race.. aka THE best show of all time. In fact, we applied for the family edition a few years ago.. and for whatever reason they didn't pick us. Basically, they lost the chance for a lot of ratings without having us on there ;)

6. I still have 3 great-grandmothers, all in their 90s! 

7. My nerdy self actually really enjoys Organic Chemistry, as much as it's killing me. Don't judge.

My weekend was basically just MADE because I got a text from my school saying classes are CANCELLED for tomorrow, because they're expecting 8 inches of snow. Soooo.. now I get to stay home with my family an extra day!

Birthday Celebration!

Today was my hilarious and sweet friend, Holly's Birthday!

So to celebrate.. we planned a big lunch for her at Suz's house :)

(We were all on the same freshman hall in the dorms on campus.. basically the best hall EVER, because I'm so blessed to have these wonderful ladies as my friends!)

Check the cookie cake.. Tara and Brandi left the candles they bought in their dorm, so we improvised with 2 candles and pretzel sticks Suz had in the pantry. Gotta love college life! :)

Now I'm home for the weekend..

soaking up some family time :)

And I already have mounds of homework.. so it's looking like my Saturday will be devoted to reading Beowulf and studying Aromaticity!

Sounds like an absolute blast, right?.. try not to be too jealous ;)

Blast from the Past

I'm at a loss for words today..

The start of every semester is draining. And I've racked my brain trying to figure out what to blog about.. but ladies, it's the end of the week and I'm exhausted. So instead I'm just going to share with you some funny pictures from back in the day.

Since we're expecting snow tonight and through the weekend up at school I dug up some old snow day pictures from when I was little.

Please check the CHEESIN smile I've got going on in the first photo. And then little Mallory bundled up like a snow bunny.. she can't even get her arms by her side for the layers of clothing mama has her in!

And now take a gander at the photo to the left. I wish you could see it blown up bigger.. I got pelted in the side of the face with a snowball.

I'm talkin, ice went all down in my little ear and I STILL remember how upset I was. I think Mama and Daddy probably said "well, just stand by your snowman so we can get a picture!" Because I am REALLY smiling through some tears. hahaha

Hopefully we will get some snow tonight!! Snow days are always the best! unless you get a snowball in your ear of course ;)

I'm loving that I got my first day of classes done.. and though I may be in class from 8am until 7 (with few breaks) I SURVIVED! So bring it on Spring semester. You are going down!

And lastly.. I'm loving that it's almost the weekend!! Because I left my raincoat at home.. and my make-up mirror, and I desperately need them!
