Randoms.

I've just completed a paper that I've worked on since Saturday... so my brain is a little shot.
As a result, this post is  just a bunch of random-ness that's been going on with me lately!

[one]- my little sis, Mallory, toured UGA Tuesday and loved it. (so happy!) She'll be a HS senior next year... which I can't believe. I'm hoping maybe, just maybe, she can be a DAWG with me! I mean... how cute does she look in Athens?

She belongs here.

[two]- I'm a little obsessed with the song "Call me, Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. At first I didn't like it at all.. but it's on repeat right now. What a great girly jam.

[three]- I've been reading the 50 Shades of Grey series... currently on number 3. And these sequels get better and better. At first I was hesitant to keep reading the first one.. but my word. I can't put them down now. I can't wait to see who they cast for a movie!

[four]- I've been going through weird phases where I become obsessed with a food. Currently: it's pimento cheese. I can't tell you how many pimento cheese sandwiches I've had lately... but it's slightly ridiculous. Do y'all do this?! Get latched onto a food for a few weeks?

and on that note, I'm off to class!
Happy Thursday!

Book Recommendations

At 5:00 today, my Spring Break will officially begin.
I'll be heading to the beach with Jasmine, planting my bottom in a chair, and reading to my little heart's content.

So, with that being said...
I need some book recommendations!
I've read all of Emily Giffin's books, the Hunger Games, Dragon Tattoo series... (I know those are frequently recommended)
so outside of THOSE... lay 'em on me!

I gotta load up my Kindle before we hit the road!

Gettin' Things DOOONE!

Sunday afternoons I prefer to be lazy.
but today I have a to-do list a miiiile long.
I'm trying to cross off these things as FAST as I can so I can do better things.. like repaint my nails. ;)
but having my windows open, and enjoying some fresh air on this beautiful day makes it a little less painful.

And tonight I'm looking forward to starting this book [pictured below] that my small group is studying.

How are you spending YOUR Sunday afternoon?!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Series.
Woahhh baby, these books are amazing.
I can't put them down.. I'm on the third one now and I don't want it to end!
The first one takes a little bit to get into.. but don't get discouraged because they are seriously AMAZING.

and basically, you need to go see the movie so they will make the second.

One Day

I read the book earlier this summer and loved it!
It's been on the best seller list in London for over a year now, and now the movie comes out this month. I'm so excited and really can't wait to see it!
I love reading books before they're made in to movies, it's always neat to see the book actually brought to life.

The movie stars Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.
My only concern is Anne Hathaway pulling off the English accent... I really don't like fake accents in movies. Southern ones are always the worst! But watch the trailer and see for yourself!

Have any of y'all read the book? Or plan to see the movie?

Summer Reads

Blogging in the Summer is really hard.
My brain doesn't feel like thinking.. so I don't come up with great blogposts. And on top of that.. I don't really do much that IS interesting enough to share with you.
Basically, over the last week I've been reading my tail off.. and if you've noticed I've added a Reading List tab at the top of my page to link you to a page of the books I've read this year.

If you're like me and LOVE to read.. make sure you check out The Hunger Games series. My sweet friend Melissa told me about them and I can't get enough! I'm waiting on the third one to make it to my library.

I also love reading books that you sweet bloggers suggest, because we all seem to have similar taste! I've finally made it through the last list I was recommended.. and I have a few more on my nightstand. But I'm ready for more recommendations! Send them my way so I can have a lengthy pile of books to read!

What are some of your favorite reads this summer?

Where Do I Even Begin...

It has been SO long since I've actually blogged that I don't even know where to start with my life...
So here's a bulleted list.. because I like lists.

  • I had my wisdom teeth out. And whoever said that was a breeze seriously lied.. that was the opposite of a breeze. I laid on the couch for 4 days and felt terrible! Now I'm counting down the days til they take these blasted stitches out so I can bite into a cheeseburger!
  • Due to the wisdom teeth removal, I have lost a lot of weight around my middle! Hello beach bikini body! I should've had this surgery at the BEGINNING of the summer. What was I thinking? [however, my swollen face balances this out.. so I look like I'm 15 pounds heavier if you see my face, and I can't smile...]
  •  Also, I have caught up on a LOT of TV & movies during my couch potato recovery period. The Glee Project is my new favorite show! Why had I not been watching this before?
  • I went shopping for the first time in months! Yesterday, Mama and I went shopping for my sweet sister Mallory's 16th birthday next week! She's got a great gift headed her way, which I will totally share with you next Wednesday after she opens it! :) I am a shopaholic friends, so I ended up buying myself a few things since I haven't in soooo long. I had to feed the addiction! ;) Check out my purchases: [my phone takes terrible pics.. so pardon the bad quality!]
H&M
top from The Limited.. I still need to find some cute bottoms to wear with it for GA games!! :)
top from the limited.. I need some cuffed shorts or something to pair with it? Idk! Opinions?
Woo! What a RUSH! Now my wallet is freaking out.. but if you need some cute tops The Limited has a great sale that is TOO good to pass up!

  • I started the best book yesterday. It's called Room by Emma Donoghue. If you've followed any of the Jaycee Dugard case you will probably really enjoy this book! It's told from the perspective of a 5 year old who has grown up in this room where he and his mom are held captive by a man who kidnapped his mother 7 years prior. I haven't been able to put it down!

and that's a wrap! My life has been pretty boring since I've been recovering.. and now I plan to catch up with blog reading! Happy Tuesday!

Life Lately

Has been full of Studying and Finishing off the school year
Friday was our last day of classes, now I'm only 4 finals away from Summer! Woohoo!!

In honor of our last day of class, my bff Sarah and I had ordered Chemistry baseball t's to wear. Check these hot shirts out!
It says "Got Mole Problems? Call Avogadro" and then it has Avogadro's number on the bottom.
Definitely nerdy.. but they were a hit in our Chemistry class.. and I think we rocked them.
And If you're wondering what the heck it means... Avogadro's number is the number of atoms in a mole of a substance. There! You learned something new! ;)

Then after class yesterday we went to see Water for Elephants to relieve some stress.
Holy smokes. What a GREAT movie! I read the book a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it, and the movie didn't disappoint! Robert Pattinson?! I swoooooon!!! He is so good looking, even MORE so without his white vampire make-up. I. Die.

So if you haven't seen Water for Elephants.. GO!!!

And now it's back to the books for me! I have 3 finals on Monday, and I prefer to study as little as possible on my Easter Sunday!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday with your family!

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

I can't wait to catch up with everyone's blogs when I'm done on Wednesday!

I Need A Good Read!

I'm in need of some new reads!
Spring break starts next weekend and I'm in desperate need of some good books since I'll actually have time to read! So I need some recommendations!

I've been thinking about reading Water for Elephants,
have any of y'all read it? Recommend it?

Anyways.. what are some of y'alls suggestions for good reads?
I'm hoping to hit the bookstore this weekend in preparation!

and lastly, thanks so much for all of your wonderful suggestions about the lipstick post from earlier! I think I'm going to take the plunge and hit up the make-up counter ASAP, but probably still use a gloss OVER the lipstick. I'm not ready to be SUPER bold yet. ;) But I'll keep you posted!

Love y'all!

Bookworm

After having a crazy week last week, this week has been so relaxing! Not much schoolwork.. and time to actually sit down and read. I'm a total bookworm.. and My family has gotten hooked to Swaptree, a website where you swap books with other people, and we have books coming in the mail weekly! Me and mama go into barnes and noble and just make lists of books we want.. go back home and put them on swaptree and within days it finds matches for you and you have a book in the mail. One of these books was Redeeming Love..

I just started it this week and I'm already halfway through it.. it is such a great book! If you need a good book to read I recently finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and I HIGHLY recommend it. It was fabulous! :)
Have any of ya'll read these books? Or have good suggestions for other reads? Because at this rate.. I'm gonna need some more books soon! :)

Betsy's Sick

For about 2 weeks now my poor little car, nicknamed Betsy, has had trouble cranking. So today when I got home from school me and my dad went to Advance Auto Parts to get the battery checked. Well... the trip that was supposed to take 30 minutes took over an hour.
Since my car is a VW and the battery is in a very inconvenient spot only professionals are supposed to handle it, but the nice guy working helped me and my dad get it out anyways. They tested it and it was completely dead.. so they put it on the charger for 30 minutes and we shopped around the car stuff. (how exciting.. not!) I got me some new windshield wipers though :) And then after 30 minutes the verdict was.. that my battery was bad! ugh! Well then.. come to find out, my battery is still under warranty so we get a new one for free!! BUT (there always seems to be a but) they were out of the battery we needed. Lovely. After calling all surrounding stores, including the one up at school, no one had the battery I need. No one.
(She looks orange, but she really is red haha)
So poor little Betsy is going to have to wait a week while they order it from Bangladesh or wherever it comes from. Who knows.
As for my weekend.. I am so excited it is finally here!! Now time to crack open the books and jump on some homework.. oh I wish I was that motivated. Instead I'll probably be reading my "pleasure reading" right now because it is sooooo good. If you need a book to read.. check this one out.
Happy Friday!
