22.

Wednesday was my birthday, and it kind of came and went so quickly I'm still digesting that I even had a birthday.



I have literally had one of the craziest weeks (academics-wise) in my college career. I had the PCAT Tuesday, Anatomy Practical Wednesday, 8AM Nutrition Exam Thursday, Anatomy Exam today, and I have another Biochemistry of Micronutrients Exam on Monday. A solid week of exams. That shouldn't be allowed on your birthday week!

It was still a great birthday though. I am so blessed to have such sweet friends and family in my life who helped me celebrate and stay semi-stress free. ;)

We had lunch at the Last Resort, hands down one of the best restaurants in Athens. It was so delicious. I mean, check this burger out:

And Jasmine surprised me with a Gigi's Cupcake after my late class (pictured above). Could I ask for a better roommate? Nope.

22 has been kind of a weird birthday, I feel like it sounds like such a mature and responsible age. 
Maybe it's because I'm comparing it to 21, the wild and crazy birthday... where this one has been so mellow. I know 22 isn't old, but it's making me feel it. I don't know where time keeps going, but I wish it would slow down a bit... I'm not ready for the real world. :)

Today my sweet little sister is turning 17.
Which is so hard to believe,
it seems like just yesterday she was my "real-life baby doll."

St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day this year doubled as a celebration for my friend Kasi's 21st

So we had a blast going around Athens, decked out in green attire.

and I loved being able to spend time with the girls I hardly get to see!

Some people get REEEEALLY in to the festivities. We saw multiple leprechauns and Sam got her picture with these two hotties ;)

How did YOU Spend St. Patrick's Day?

I love Birthdays.

I particularly love 21st birthdays.

Which is why I drove up to the North GA Mountains on Tuesday night to celebrate my sweet friend Sarah's birthday! 

  me and Sarah go WAY back, as in we had 4 Chemistry classes together.. which is practically a lifetime.

We even bought matching nerd baseball tees to celebrate surviving O-Chem.. Get some.

Since I transferred this year, I haven't gotten to see my friends in ages! So it was fun catching up with everyone.

and after dinner I met up with some girls from my freshman hall. Being with them is always a blast, and we always pick up RIGHT where we left off.

It was a whirlwind trip.

But so fun to see everyone again!

and a little bittersweet...

I kind of miss that little college town.

But then I remember how much I love Athens.

;)

My Mother's 29th birthday... again.

Mama decided she was turning 29 again this year ;)

so yesterday we celebrated her lovely birthday.

We opened presents in the office at home before heading out to dinner in Athens.

I LOVE gift-giving and I especially love surprised faces when opening gifts. 

  for dinner we planned to go to one of my favorite places to eat dinner, Casa Mia in Athens.

Well lo and behold the place went and CLOSED for good over the holiday. I'm talking, scraped the vinyl sign off the windows and everything. WHAT. THE. HECK?!

I literally ate there the last week of school.

and they had delicious food and amazing sangria.

not cool.

So we ended up at Speakeasy for some tapas. Definitely another great dinner place downtown. 

tapas are my new favorite.

I'm a major food lover, and so I love that you can order like 10 different things.. and get to try them all without:

A) Breaking the bank 

or 

B) getting miserably full

It was a delicious dinner! and we had a wonderful time celebrating Mama's 45th 29th birthday. ;)

Considering it went from 60 degrees to 30 overnight this week in Georgia.. I'm in love with these babies. They are so incredibly warm.

I can't put them down.. I'm on the third one now and I don't want it to end!

The first one takes a little bit to get into.. but don't get discouraged because they are seriously AMAZING.

Let the Fun Begin!

I am FINALLY finished with my semester!

not looking forward to getting the grades back...

BUT no more Physics, EVER.

That is a reason to celebrate if I've ever heard one ;)

and I'm so happy I actually should have time to blog now. I have really been crunched with time and let it go... so sad. 

But a quick recap on my lovely weekend. :) 

My dear friend Sam turned 21 this weekend and we dinner and a party for her at my apartment over the weekend.

sadly I had to cut out early and go to campus to study... (trying to be responsible)

21st Birthday Bash.

Saturday night we had the birthday bash!

Everyone came over to my apartment for cake and to mingle.. before heading to downtown Athens to dance the night away.

 

 It took forever to get those candles lit. I think next time we'll just do numbers. haha!

And of course.. you have to love an awkward self-timer group pic! ;)

  After downtown a lot of us headed over to Caleb's to hang out for a while since he lives down the street from me! 

and more self-timer pictures were taken... as in probably a good 100. Definitely some good laughs!

It was a successful night. If I do say so myself. :)

Last night I purchased tickets to another Concert next week!!! :) I'm going to see Green River Ordinance, (LOVE their music), and Boyce Avenue. I can't wait! I'm really into concerting lately.. it's my new hobby I believe. All my spare change is going to these concerts.. I may be living off ramen soon.

I'm actually doing decent in Calc II. It's a miracle friends. I aced my quiz this week.. and I've been rocking the homework. #holla

My new RED cowboy boots that I got for my biiiiirthday. And I'm not lying when I say I'm loving them; I've been wearing them around my apartment with my nike shorts and t-shirts. I can't wait to rock them at a GA game soon!! :)

21st Birthday

Thank you all SO much for my sweet birthday wishes!

I had a wonderful birthday :)

On my actual birthday my parents came and took me to lunch at the Last Resort in Athens.. it's one of my favorite places to go. (If you are ever in the area make sure you eat there!)

I had pan seared ravioli with an artichoke spinach sauce and feta cheese. Heaven!

When we got back from lunch I had a surprise on the back porch from Caleb and the boys down the road.. they left me a 12 pack of budlight. haha! My first alcoholic gift. ;)

Monday nights I have small group, so before it started a few of us went to dinner for my birthday. :)

we had fun ;)

and after small group Jasmine and I celebrated with some birthday cake and one of the budlights that Caleb had left. 

Now I can't wait until Saturday when all of my friends get to come celebrate with me! :) 

Time Just Flies By!

Today is my 21st birthday.

(yikes!)

I mean really.. where has the time gone?!

It's a bittersweet birthday, because of course it's exciting to be of legal drinking age, but at the same time it's the last exciting birthday there is!

I mean.. the rest are the dreaded "hitting 30" or "over the hill." (not to be a debbie downer...)

 

 

 

But I'm incredibly excited to be the big 2-1. (It's Nicole's birthday too.. so make sure you wish her a Happy Birthday!!) It stinks to have this particular birthday on a Monday.. because I'll have to be in my professor's office deciphering Calculus II this afternoon. (what a DRAAAG! I think I deserve an A for that.) BUT, My sweet Mama and Daddy are coming to take me out for lunch today after my classes. :)

Sushi & A Birthday!

The other day I mentioned that Saturday night we celebrated Emily's 21st.. 

but I didn't share with you all the deets of the night. 

Friends, it was A. NIGHT.

Kris, Jess, Ally, Me, BIRTHDAY GIRL, & Greg

  This was our group of friends (minus Sam). 

See.. the four of us on the left were at the restaurant waiting at 8 to surprise Emily. Well.. they didn't show up for over an hour. and When they finally did.. a bunch of random people filed in behind them! We had rented out a room in this Japanese Sushi place.. and it has a stage for you to do Karaoke. 

Well all these rand-o people turned HER party into THEIR party. And we sat with smiles plastered on our faces trying to figure out what to do. Y'all, it was a TRIP!

I sipped my little coca-cola.. ordered me some sushi.. and laughed my tail off at the predicament we were in.

I mean.. even a Bachelorette Party came by. It was wild!

But we had a good time.. and Emily definitely won't forget that birthday! ;)

I Just Loooove Surprise Parties!!

Poor Mal had cheerleading practice and then work yesterday on her birthday.

So she thought we weren't going to do anything special, other than go out to dinner with just our family. 

Little did she know....

We had been planning a Surprise Party!

  We loaded up her friends in the suburban and went to pick her up from work at 6!

They hid in the very back, so when she got in she wouldn't see them. Several minutes after she got in the car they all popped out and surprised her! She was so surprised! 

 Then we gave her 20 minutes to change and headed to the Cheesecake Factory in the ATL!

 We had a great time! And I have a new favorite cheesecake now.. I ordered the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle.. To. Die. For. It was sooo good! And I've definitely gained back every pound I lost during my wisdom teeth removal last night. (but it was definitely worth it!)

Mallory definitely had a great 16th birthday! And we had so much fun planning it! 

Now she is officially a licensed driver... I can't believe it!
