That I've joined a small group at church and we're all meeting up tomorrow night! All I've heard is great things about people who have joined small groups, so I'm extremely excited to get involved with group link at church. My group seems awesome so far! So it should be a great way to not only meet new people, but grow closer to God in the process. :)

I got Ben Rector tickets with Ally last night!! I'm so excited! He's going to be in town the week of my birthday so it's going to be EXTRA special. ;)

 That we're one step closer to the weekend.. and it's a long weekend at that! I can't wait to go to the lake to spend time with friends and family. 

and I'll really be loving it when I'm not feeling under the weather.

Feeling Under the Weather

I hate getting sick.

for reals.

And this week.. I've been sick.

Not to mention, now I work in a pharmacy. So it doesn't exactly look good to be wiping your nose and sneezing when you hand people their medicine. I've gotten my kleenex, some nasal decongestant, and plenty of sleep so I'm PRAYING I feel better before I go to work tomorrow. 

On top of feeling sick, I've got a ton of Calc II homework without any clue how to do it. Yes, finding a tutor is on my to-do list..

I feel like every post needs a picture mid-way through..

This is from a few weeks ago when sweet Ally came to visit me! 

Okay back on track...  All of my classes have online web assigned homework. Can I start by saying that is a PAIN. It costs so much to sign up with these websites.. forget saving money by getting your books off amazon, because each site costs like 50 bucks to register. THEN.. they are so particular about the answers you submit. I swear my Calc online site would not accept my answer and I had it right.. it took several emails between me and my professor to get it to submit. That makes me ILL. 

So needless to say, this online homework CRAP takes HOURS. To the point that I'm sick of looking at numbers before I even have the time to study.

Sorry, it's been a rough day.

But on a more positive note.. We sang this song last week at Wesley Foundation and I can't get enough. It's so beautiful.

My life has been crazy.. but I actually have TIME to do a quick post with Jamie for WILW!

Today I'm loving...

That we finally have internet and cable!! After 3 weeks without it.. it is SUCH a blessing to have access to internet without having to drive to jittery joe's. Uverse is amazing. end of story.

 Yes, that would be a picture of my computer ON the internet, IN my apartment. Can you sense my excitement?

 Tonight I'm going to Wesley Foundation with my friend Elise! We went last week and it made me feel so refreshed. I love a midweek picker-upper.. and there's nothing better than a little bit of worship with great company to get me through the second half of my week!

I'm sorry, but it is a CRYING shame this man is gay. 

He is hysterical and I just love him to pieces. Flipping Out is on our On Demand and I can't get enough of it!!! 

 and the houses he does are incredible. 

So how have y'all been? I hope to ONE day have enough time to go back through and read everything.. but my google reader has 500+ things on it.. and that makes me have trouble breathing from anxiety. Looks like I'll have to start fresh because I just KNOW I'll never catch up! ;)

Day One. Success.

Day one of classes = Success.

That's right.

I survived crossing the 5 lane highway to the city bus stop. (Looking somewhat like a Frogger game dodging the cars and school buses) Made it to campus, to all of my classes, met a cute boy in physics, and made it back to my apartment after class. Oh how I loooove being a Georgia bulldog. 

Now I'm just mooching off of jittery joe's wireless since we have exactly ONE Week until our cable is installed!!! Holllaaaaa!!! So I'm trying to schedule some blogposts for this week ;) 

Hope all of you had a great first day back! (and if you haven't started back yet.. you stink! I miss summer already!)

Welcome to My Room!

Now that I've finally managed to snap some pictures I thought I'd share my room with you!

It was a project to complete, but I'm absolutely in love with it all! We spent the entire summer yard sale-ing, antique'ing, and figuring out how to assemble a fireplace into a headboard.. and I'm ready to show it to you!

As I gain more funds I plan to add to it! I'm going to try to find some decorative plates to hang above it.. all shapes and sizes.. but this will do for now!

My pillows are from Pier One.. and I love how colorful my room is. It just makes me so happy every time I walk in. :)

I still need to get some flowers for some of my jars and vases..

So that's basically my crib! ;) I'll share more apartment pictures as we complete the rooms.. we're still waiting on some more furniture for the living room! And I'm waiting for the desk I ordered to come in for my room.. so there will definitely be more pictures! My classes started today so pray for me this week! ;)

One Day

I read the book earlier this summer and loved it!

It's been on the best seller list in London for over a year now, and now the movie comes out this month. I'm so excited and really can't wait to see it!

I love reading books before they're made in to movies, it's always neat to see the book actually brought to life. 

The movie stars Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. 

My only concern is Anne Hathaway pulling off the English accent... I really don't like fake accents in movies. Southern ones are always the worst! But watch the trailer and see for yourself!

Girls Night at the Movies!

Last night we went to see The Help and it was AMAZING.

My mom, Mallory, me, Ally and her mom and sisters all went to see it. We had all read the book and loved it, so we planned a mother-daughter movie night to go see it!

We didn't get a picture of all of us, sadly.

We went to the 10:00 movie and didn't get out until around 12:30.. but I didn't want the movie to end!! Minnie was absolutely perfect in the movie. I always love books more than movies.. but they really did a great job with this one!

On another note, my apartment is really coming together! Classes start Monday and I've done a dry run of my schedule.. even rode the City busline to get to campus. (sketchyyyyyy) I survived. I'm looking at it as a character builder. ;) (I already had my emotional breakdown) Y'all, I was the only one on there without a doo-rag! I'm thinking next week will be better once more students are using it... hopefully! But the UGA buses aren't so bad!

I won't have internet or cable in my apartment until August 22. Ridiculous? Yes.

School starts the 15th! 

So in the meantime I might not be blogging so much since I'll have to hang out at wifi spots rather than the comfort of my own home. But as soon as I get some internet time I will be back!

Project Headboard.

So Remember this post.. where I mentioned my fabulous mantel?

 Well today my project is turning that baby into an actual headboard.

This morning I've been sealing the headboard with a semi-gloss finish, and the next step is to upholster a piece of wood for the center. We decided it needed something in that  middle section (where the fire would be), so after a few trips to JoAnn fabrics... we've got all the supplies. 

I'm PRAYING it turns out all right. I've only been lusting over putting this mantel together the entire summer.. and I'm OCD about stuff. So if it isn't perfect, it will always drive me nuts!

But that's my project for today.. I'll definitely post pictures once it's complete.

Then tonight I'm unpacking my kitchen stuff and Ally is coming to spend the night with me :) I'm so excited for a girls night!

Move in!!

I love moving in to a new place, and getting everything in order..

but I really hate the process of carrying furniture in.

Add the heat of August, and it's really not fun.

So pardon how rough I look.. but I have to post a few pictures of the move in yesterday!

Gosh, moving a mattress is so awkward! 

We got to the apartment around 9:30 so we could beat the heat.. and luckily we managed to get all of the big stuff unloaded while it was still relatively cool outside.

I didn't take a TON of pictures, because I want to wait and post them when I get everything the way I want it. However, I did take some of the dresser I got.

I got a beat up dresser at an antique store for a really great price. I loved the mirror on it, but it needed something to make it look more fun. So we went to Hobby Lobby and got a bunch of mismatched, fun knobs... and voila!

it really spruced it up into a fun piece of furniture!

Once I get more done I'll take better pictures! We were just worn out yesterday! and in the meantime, I'm dealing with cable and internet installation appointments... I'm about to pull my hair out!

My new job in the Pharmacy! I had training yesterday and I absolutely loved it! Everyone is so sweet and welcoming, and I couldn't ask for a better place to be!

That tomorrow I'm moving into my new apartment! :) I've got all my stuff together, I can't wait to get it moved in and situated!

[three.]

That I get to order scrubs for work. It's the little things in life.... because this really excites me. I like simple decisions since I'm so indecisive. Scrubs will make my work clothing choices SO much simpler. Now it's just a matter of figuring out which colors and styles I want to order! Do any of y'all wear scrubs to work, or have preferences?

   [four.]

 AIR CONDITIONING! This heat is killing me! I'm so over it. Bring on the cool temperatures of fall! ;)

Exciting Things!

A lot of things are coming together for me this year, and I couldn't be more excited!

I found out last night that I got a job at a local pharmacy, and I start when school starts back! I'm absolutely thrilled about it, especially since I plan on applying to Pharmacy school in the fall and REALLY need the work experience! 

After the last school year I had, I felt like things could only get better.. but I feel so blessed for how great everything is going for me right now. I'm moving into my apartment Thursday, starting school in a new place, taking the opportunities to meet new people, and above all just seeing that trusting in the Lord has allowed everything to fall right into place. I'm beyond excited for the upcoming year, and I can't wait to see what it all has in store!
