After A Lazy Weekend

So it's been a while since I've been able to update because life got hectic after my relaxing weekend! But now I actually have some spare time :)

Me, Ally, and Jessica passed our weekend at Jessica's lake house on Lake Hartwell and we had so much fun! It rained the majority of the weekend, so we sat inside, ate food, and watched season 1 of The Hills, yes very old school! It's crazy how much I actually remembered from those episodes!
Here are some pictures of the delicious food we ate! I just love fruit, and after getting back from the weekend I loaded up on it at the grocery store.

We made rice krispie treats.. which I hadn't had in ages, and they were delicious! Except Jessica melted the spatula when making them so a few bites had melted spatula, but they were still good ;)
Some great summer reads! I'm getting them hooked on Emily Giffin's books. :)
The little bit of sunshine we had we rushed out to lay out in it, and roasted! So we got some floats to lay on.
They were about impossible to blow up, I think we might have spent 30 minutes trying to blow them up, and then felt so lightheaded afterwards! And Ally struggled with blowing hers up... so I ended up having to blow up half of hers, next time we will take a pump to blow them up!
And right after we finally got all 3 floats blown up, a huge thunderstorm came and we had to go inside.. Sometimes I have such terrible luck! But that was our fun weekend :)
Me and Jessica blowing up our floats:

Then yesterday, I had a weird thing happen, and I mean WEIRD. This story is so crazy you'll probably think it's made up, but I promise it isn't. I was meeting one of my friends, Suz, in the square to go eat at Picnic cafe before she leaves for Africa, and because I hadn't seen her in a while. I got there before her, so I sat on a park bench in the square to enjoy the nice weather. Well, as I'm sitting there this elderly man comes over to me and starts talking to me. (nothing weird about that) But, then he starts admiring my shoes, and takes my flip flop off. (I was wearing rainbows) and he goes on and on about how he used to make women's shoes up in Michigan and blah blah blah.. Well then he starts rubbing my foot! and feeling the muscles in my foot and saying "yeah these are nice feet".. and I was feeling EXTREMELY uncomfortable, but I didn't know how to just jump up and leave. So then he finally says "well, I guess I'll leave you in peace."And I was thinking "THANK GOODNESS!!" and said "okay, well it was nice talking to you!" (trying to be nice)

Well next thing I know he strikes up MORE conversation and sits down beside me, and starts asking if I ever took ballet of any sort and starts to reach for my foot again and tells me to point and flex. At this point I was soooo uncomfortable, AND weirded out, so I quickly said "wellll... i'm supposed to be meeting one of my friends! nice talkin to you!" and made a dash for the restaurant. It was the oddest thing that has ever happened to me!

Well when I get in the restaurant I started to explain what happened to my friend Sarah that works there, and she said he is always in their restaurant and around the square and apparently he has a foot fetish. So it's happened to other people around there. Ugh!!! WHY ME?! haha Needless to say, I won't be sitting on any more park benches by myself.. I will sit in my car until my friends get there! haha

But that was my crazy encounter from yesterday! And last night, the bachelorette was great! so much drama!! I don't know why we watch that trash, but it sure is entertaining! I'm so glad Justin is OUTTA there! and those voicemails he left his girlfriend?! what a moron! be a man and tell Ali the truth, he stuttered like crazy trying to cover himself up. I can't wait to see what the drama that awaits next week!

Hope everyone has a great wednesday!

Gwinnett Braves

Last night I went with my family to the Gwinnett Braves game. We had never been before and it was so much fun!! We had great seats! and the most adorable little kids around us, I was dying to take a picture of this one little boy who had his glove.. and he caught a ball and it was so cute!! but I didn't want to look like a total creeper trying to sneak a picture of him! haha

(L to R: My sister Mallory, Me, and my Mama)
By the 3rd inning I started to get hungry, and I've never had a ballpark frank.. so I thought hey! why not mark something off my bucket list?! and it was DELICIOUS!

I couldn't eat the whole thing though.. so we all ended up sampling it. :)
They were celebrating Georgia peach season at the game so when we left they gave us all peaches!

Showing off our Peaches!
We ended up eating our peaches on our walk back to the car and they were so juicy and delicious!!! I am gonna have to go buy me some peaches this week when I'm grocery shopping!
That's all for now! I'm headed to the lake with the girls!

Sugar Doll Award

"The Blonde" at Blonde Ambition passed this onto me, and I am honored :) I just found her blog this week, and I love reading her posts! She always has great things to say! Thanks for the award!

So what's an award without some rules? These are pretty simple...

Thank the person who gave you the award, share ten things about yourself, pass this award onto ten bloggers who you recently discovered and think are fantastic and finally contact the bloggers to let them know you’ve picked them for an award.

So Here we go!

  1. I'm addicted to facebook, pretty bad, and twitter (Thanks to my roommate Ally). And am becoming addicted to blogger now. I love my macbook and it definitely contributes to this addiction to social networking sites! :)
  2. If I ever win the lottery my wardrobe will be J.Crew and Lilly Pulitzer, and my house will look like a Pottery Barn magazine. (A girl can dream!) AND i will have a Jeep Commander in my driveway.. because that is the car I am currently dreaming of.
  3. I have no backbone whatsoever.. I cannot tell people No, or stand up for myself... I think it's because I'm really sensitive and I worry too much about hurting other people's feelings. But, I am getting better! :)
  4. I make my bed every morning. If it isn't made I feel like the whole room just looks a complete mess. AND I have so many pillows on my bed they would take over the room if I didn't!
  5. I LOVE to read.. and I recently found Swaptree, a website where you can swap books with other people and I have a huge stack of books waiting to be read whenever I have spare time again. If you like reading as much as I do you should definitely check that website out! it is one of my new favorites!
  6. My major is Chemistry/Pre-Pharmacy, I've spent some time shadowing pharmacists and I just know that's what I want to do! I'm just trying to stay positive through all of this chemistry! It can really bog you down!
  7. My family watches too much tv, and I am hooked now. At school I don't watch it as much, but when I go home I always catch up with Tivo. We watch the Celebrity Apprentice (one of my very favorites), The Amazing Race (Which we auditioned for the family one once, but they didn't choose us!!!), The Middle, Modern Family, and GLEE. (The last 3 are my new favorite shows. they crack me up!!! if you haven't watched them, you need to catch up on hulu ASAP!) Shows I watch with my friends at school are One Tree Hill (we have our OTH group that meets every monday!) and the Bachelorette.
  8. I am in love with John Mayer. Seriously. I just absolutely love his music, and his voice melts my heart. I got tickets to his concert for Christmas this past year, and it was one of the best nights of my life! I am dying to meet him one day!! he is definitely my man crush. :)
  9. Driving stresses me out. I consider myself a very good and considerate driver, I always let people go when they need to turn and no one else will let them out, it's those rude drivers out there that make me so angry! I vent to my mama about it weekly. I mean really.. drive the interstate for 30 minutes and tell me someone doesn't do something that ticks you off!
  10. I love quoting stuff.. like impersonations. For example, Forrest Gump "Jennayyy." and doing ghetto voices is always fun! me and my roommate Ally frequently narrate our life in ghetto voices. We also like to impersonate the girls on The Hills.. "Brodyyyyyy" And Kasey from the Bachelorette is another favorite to impersonate, if you watch you will understand. "GUARD AND PROTECT YOUR HEART" ugh!!
So now time to pass it along to some lovely ladies I've recently found!

So Little Time

This summer class I have right now is taking a major toll on me. My advisor told me that taking a chemistry course in the summer took over your life.. but I completely understand that now that I'm in the second chemistry course of the summer. I sit in class with a completely glazed expression because I have absolutely no clue what is going on! But at least everyone else seems to have the same expression on there face! haha I swear, I work on chemistry from 9 am until dinner time some nights.. and then have to study before I go to bed. I'm tired of it!!! I'm ready to just have a few weeks off to enjoy the summer weather.

At least the classes are only monday-thursday though. So now my weekend is here! Tonight I'm going to a Gwinnett Braves game with my family, and tomorrow morning I'm leaving for the lake with Jessica & Ally and I cannot wait! There is nothing like a little relaxation time at the lake! Here is a pic of the 3 of us from earlier in the summer.. just so you can put some faces with names :)

(L to R: Jessica, Ally, and Me)
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures at some point during the weekend!

A Night on the Square

After a long and exhausting day of chemistry, Ally and I decided to go take a walk around the town square. We took pictures and then stopped into the Picnic Cafe, an adorable bakery, where my friend Sarah works. The outside is precious, especially with the bicycle, and as soon as you walk in the aromas of freshly baked cookies fills the air.

I got a lemonade frosted sugar cookie, and Ally got a key lime frosted sugar cookie. Then we went out to the square, sat on a park bench, and enjoyed our delicious cookies.

After our cookies we walked around and took some more pictures.. and we kept getting weird looks from people. Does this happen to anyone else?! I'm sorry that I wanted to take pictures of the beautiful scenery! Maybe they thought we looked like weird tourists.. but I don't think it's THAT crazy to take pictures of a touristy town.. whatever!

After taking a million pictures we met our friend Jessica at the best pizza restaurant EVER.. Gustavo's. We frequent Gustavo's on a weekly basis in the fall, and we hadn't had it in a while so we went tonight. The pizza is super cheap, extremely delicious, and the slices are HUGE! get a load of this:

My mouth waters just looking at it!
We're definitely going to have to run some stairs and power walk it on our moonlit stroll tonight! Especially after our blizzard treat yesterday :)

Oreo cookie jar is where it's at!!

That's all for now though!

Where I Stay

I thought I should post some pictures of my room.. because I recently got new bedding and pillows and I am in LOVE with them.
I started off wanting a papasan chair because one of my friends, Sophie, had one in her dorm room last year and it was just so comfortable! So i started shopping around on Craigslist and I found one for only $20! SOLD! After picking up the chair I checked out Pier 1's papasan cushions and immediately fell in love with this one:

So then I used that cushion as an inspiration for the rest of my room.. and with my mama's help, went to Pier 1 (my new FAVORITE store) and went crazy with their pillows! Mixing and matching until we got an eclectic and adorable collaboration. And voila! here is the look we finally picked:

The lamp i got from Hobby Lobby and it matches perfectly! And we got the quilt from Target. I would show pictures of our apartment... but it's messy because we have a random roommate who doesn't clean up after herself and it gets awful. So.. in the fall I will post pictures when we move into our NEW apartment.

Now time to study chemistry for a while.. and hopefully squeeze a nap in there somewhere ;)

1,000 phonecalls later..

Dinner is always a big deal in our apartment, because we are all learning how to cook on our own for the first time pretty much. Tonight I decided to attempt my family's squash casserole recipe, accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes, ritzy chicken, corn, and yeast rolls. I know.. it's a lot of starches, but I did run a mile today with Ally :)

The squash casserole proved to be a daunting task.. as I began to read through the recipe I kept having more and more questions about it. So after about 4 phone calls to my sweet mama it was finally underway and ready to go into the oven.

Finally our meal was complete, and Jessica came over to join us for dinner before our weekly ritual of watching the Bachelorette. (which on a side note, let me just say, thank goodness Kasey is GONE!) Anyways, our meal was delicious and here is a picture of the final product:

I guess we needed a salad to add a color other than brown and yellow in there.. but oh well! haha afterwards me and Ally went for a moonlit stroll around campus.. and we didn't really walk as much as we had hoped.. we ended up having too much fun taking self-timer portraits of ourselves.. here are a few just for some laughs.

well that's all the fun for now!

Hello Bloggers!

I've wanted to start a blog for the longest time, particularly after reading kevinandamanda's blog, and finally after deciding on a name.. I'm here! I want to use this blog to capture life's memories so I can go back and remember everything I've done, while also sharing it with others.

A little about me.. I'm a pre-pharmacy major at a college in a quaint little town, not too far from my hometown, but just far enough. In later posts I will include some pictures of this adorable little town, because I absolutely love it here :)

I'm currently spending my summer taking chemistry classes so I can catch up, because I changed my major. So right now my summer consists of nothing but chemistry.. and the library. It's like a full time job sometimes.

but I would really prefer to spend most of my days sitting on the dock at the lake..
I live with my friend Ally, you can follow her blog at http://forevermyheartisyours.blogspot.com/. We have so many laughs, and I wish we could've been close before living together. I am so excited to be spending my summer with her and am really looking forward to rooming with her in the fall. And we spend a lot of time with Jessica, learning how to cook on our own, going on adventures, and establishing our weekly rituals, we just all have too much fun together. You will definitely be hearing more about what we do for fun in my coming posts. Here is a picture of all of us at the braves game last week.

(L to R: Ally, Jessica, and Me)

But that's all I'll post for now. Tonight we're all cooking dinner and tuning in to one of our favorite shows, the Bachelorette. So there will definitely be many pictures to come for tomorrow! :)
