The Unpacking Begins!!

Summer classes are FINALLY over! and with that.. the move home and the unpacking has begun!! We move back to school into a new apartment in two weeks.. so now I have to unpack and repack everything in a more organized way.. so for the meantime my room looks like this:
and that's not even everything.
Millie is always excited when I get home, especially when I have a really big princess pillow for her to sit on :) (aka my papasan cushion)
And our cat Sugar, aka the DIVA, caught her outside queening out with a squirrel RIGHT beside her and just HAD to get a picture.

Tomorrow me, Ally, & Jessica are leaving for the beach to celebrate the end of summer classes!! So for the next few days we will be soaking up the rays.. before returning back to school for more learning..

Me and Ally took this picture last night while on a study break stroll around campus :)

Etsy shops

Next weekend I'm going to St. Simons Island to celebrate the end of summer classes with Jessica and Ally. My grandmother lives there so we're going to stay with her, and come and go to the beach and village for some shopping. Since we'll be on the island I started looking up some Lilly Pulitzer because I just love those bright, islandy prints. Too bad all of it is WAY out of my price range.. but I found this ADORABLE headband in an etsy shop and I am in love!
Too bad I didn't find it at the BEGINNING of the summer. And then.. as I was etsy shopping, I stumbled upon these rag wreaths.
I LOVE this!! I want one to hang on the door to my room in our new apartment! But I think I can make one myself before I cough up the $50. It can't be too hard! The hardest part for me would be finding all of the cute material and making sure it still matches nicely.
Anyways, I think that's going to be a project for me while I have my one week of summer vacation. I just love it!

Blueberries & Blog Award!

(me & my little sister, Mallory)
Today my grandparents took me and my sister to pick blueberries with them again, and we got so many blueberries! Mallory thought she didn't like blueberries.. but after trying the ones today she said "These are delicious!"

Our VERY full bucket
Then we went and got us some more Georgia Peaches.

It was FAR too hot today in Georgia!! Me and my sister went to the Mall of GA today.. and a drive that should've taken 20 minutes took us 45 because there was some terrible traffic! we had to go 20mph on I85 the ENTIRE WAY!! And on top of that.. my little red bug has black leather interior that gets SUPER hot.. so we were ROASTING! and had to get a shot of the temperature! because that AC was not even helping today.

This is my sweet Millie on squirrel patrol! one reason why I love being home! she always cracks me up! She spends most of the evening sitting on top of the couch scoping out potential threats.. even though she's only like 7 lbs... She's more bark than anything haha.

AND a blog award! I love awards!!
Jess from polka dots pearls & pink.. oh my! Sent me this blog award! If you haven't seen her blog, definitely check her out! It is absolutely adorable! and she has a precious puppy too :)

All you have to do for this award is share it with people who
have touched / changed your life (whether it be in a good or bad way) and why!

So here it goes!!
1. Ally - good way; you always crack me up! And we have too much fun!
2. Ashley - good way; I love all of her posts about restoring the gulf! The video she shared in her last one was so touching.
3. Lauren - I just found her blog today! but it is so adorable! i can't wait to read more :)
4. Lindsay - Her blog is adorable! And she has great pictures in every post!

Well that's all for now! I made a new header and got a new background today! I needed some change! So hope you like the new look!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Mmmm.. Milkshakes.

Yesterday, Ally & I decided to make a run to Hobby Lobby to peruse for things we might want to use in our apartment. We didn't end up buying anything.. but in the process of walking down every aisle and gazing at all of the adorable things, we ended up being worn out! (we both love Hobby Lobby, I'm pretty sure it's my favorite store EVER) So since it was 2:00 when we got done.. and there was a steak n shake down the road.. and it was 100 degrees outside.. we decided to get us a half price milkshake!
Ohhh chocolate milkshake.. so delicious!
If you didn't know steak n shake had half price shakes.. like a lot of people i know.. now you know! 2-4 on weekdays! and it is sooo worth all of those calories!! haha

Then last night my mom, sister, and grandparents came up to go ahead and take a big load of my stuff home from the apartment. We have to move out for 2 weeks.. just to move back in to the same exact apartment building. SO ANNOYING!! so for 2 weeks i'm going to have a room full of stuff.. which my project for tomorrow is to attempt to organize it.

AND.. i'm hoping to try a new recipe off of Picky Palate.. she has some of the most delicious looking desserts lately! I want to try the Ice Cream Sundae 4 Layer Chocolate Cake (which i'm pretty sure just typing and reading out that title made me gain 5 lbs!)
but really.. how good does that look?!
AND i also wanna try her snickers caramel cheesecake cookies... they look AMAZING.
So that might be a project tomorrow.. in addition to organizing apartment stuff.
Peace Out.
Leslie.

Fresh Produce!

Yesterday Ally and I had our weekly grocery shopping trip, and the produce at Walmart was such a letdown. So we journeyed down to a fruit stand and got us some FRESH produce. We got us some squash and a big canteloupe. And let me just tell you.. it was the BEST tasting canteloupe.

Then when we got back to the apartment we made us some lemon pie with my new lemon juicer and zester!

Unfortunately we did not get a picture of the pie all done up.. because we couldn't wait to eat a slice! :) But, it is a lowfat pie so we felt guilt-free!
For dinner we tried our hand at fried okra, and at first we weren't so sure how it was looking but it ended up tasting delicious.

(YUMM!!!)

And then we proceeded to watch the drama filled bachelorette.. which i have my comments about that on last night's post.

But today me and Ally had a pretty embarrassing thing happen..
Sometimes we like to express our ghetto sides.. just because it's really fun to talk like that, we get really into it. We originally called mondays our "GHETTOOOO MONDAAAY" but we have now extended that to a daily occurrence. (Okay, maybe we seem weird. But it's really fun.. we got on this big kick after watching far too many Glozell videos on youtube.) We kind of use it as a stress reliever I guess.. and for laughs too. But it catches on. Try it.
Well we were sitting in our living room and thought that our other roommate was gone.. we don't really know her that well because she was a random assigned one. So we were just getting into our ghetto selves.. and after a while we decided to both go back to our rooms and work on homework before breaking for lunch. Not 5 minutes after we go in our rooms Ally texts me and says "OMG!! TIFFANY WAS IN HERE THAT WHOLE TIME!!!" which we then proceeded to be EXTREMELY embarrassed. I'm pretty sure she thinks we are immature weirdos, or crazy people, or who knows! i'm so mortified! haha so now we don't know if we should talk stupid like that around her? or just ignore the fact that it happened?
either way it still cracks me up.

Peace Out!

Weekend Update

This weekend I went with my grandparents to a peach orchard and then to a place to pick blueberries. I had never picked blueberries before, and it was so fun! They are soooo much sweeter and juicier when they are fresh, I never want to buy them from the store again.

(Blueberries on the Bushes)

(Peach ice cream @ the Peach Orchard)

Then Saturday night I met with the girls and we went to Inokos, a Japanese steak house where the cook in front of you. It was DELICIOUS! I hadn't been there in ages. And afterwards we went into downtown Athens to a place called Yoguri. It's frozen yogurt and you can add toppings to it. delish.

(The sign- the inside was way cuter but it was crowded so I didn't want people to think I was taking pictures of them.)

(My frozen yogurt: I copied Taylor and got Granola, Strawberries, & White chocolate chips! So good!)

After we got our frozen yogurts we went outside to sit and people watch..
(Sam, Taylor, & Grayson)
(Me & Emily)

And then Sunday I headed back to school to study for Chemistry.. but guess what! Only 2 more weeks... 7 more days of class! The end is in sight!!!

and p.s. the bachelorette tonight.. i'm starting to get a little bit bored with it.. and it's pretty obvious that she would've chosen frank if he hadn't of decided he loved his ex-gf. so weird. i don't get why it took him so long to realize that, and i don't get why she liked him so much.. but oh well! i'm not her!

Grandparents Weekend

This weekend I'm staying with my grandparents: 1) because my family is going to the beach without me & 2) because I haven't stayed with them in ages!! So I'm really excited to spend time with them.. they always crack me up! And my grandma is an amazing southern cook! Of course, as soon as I got here she already had made a lemon pie.. and is planning on making homemade waffles and a full out breakfast for the morning! Oh how I love my grandparents :)
(this is a picture of them from last summer when we went on a cruise and I just think it's so funny! Growing up we called them Mama Jo and Daddy Dewey, but over time it just shortened to "Jo" & "D")

Tomorrow they've already planned to go shopping for some wedding gifts for a friend getting married, hit up Bed Bath & Beyond to buy me kitchen stuff to make key lime pies, and then visit my great-grandmother aka "Granny B."

(My dad, sister, grandpa, and me with Granny on Mother's Day)

Granny B is probably the best southern cook I know, and she is so country! I just love her! She makes the most wonderful biscuits.. and she pats them out by hand from an old wooden bowl. Hopefully one day I can cook biscuits as well as her! And hopefully I can still do half the things she does at 95!

Then Saturday night I'm going out to dinner with some of my good friends from high school, Taylor and Grayson. We were best buddies in preschool at age 3, and then in high school we were all really great friends. Our Senior year we had the closest group of girls, and we all like to try to get together whenever we're free (which is hardly ever), so I'm really excited to see them!
Now time for some high school memories through my old pictures :)
(Prom photoshoot! front row: Sam, Elise, Taylor; back: Kasi, Me, Emily, Grayson)
(Our group of girls on the Lake Trip)
(Our group at baccalaureate service L to R: Kasi, Me, Taylor, Grayson, Elise, Evan, Sam, & Emily)
Anchor Club Mother Daughter Banquet when we got our countdown to graduation chains!
(L to R: Sam, Me, Emily, Taylor, & Grayson)
And one last fun picture!
Goodnight!
