Can I redo MY Senior Year.... Please?

So yesterday I got to see my sister's Senior Portraits that she had taken over the weekend... (which I blogged about here.) and holy smokes.

She looks so old!!! It's crazy, crazy, CRAZY. I can't get over how gorgeous they are... and I really want to redo my Senior Year of High School so I can have my senior portraits done again.. and just experience the fun festivities all over again. ;)

SO now prepare yourself for Picture overload.. because I'm obsessed and have to show off my gorgeous little sister.

-This one is hands down my favorite-

and I'm done showing off her pictures... I can't help that I'm proud :)

-happy friday-
TGIF this week for sure.
I thought the week would never end.
peace and love.

Senior Year.

My little sister is going to be a senior in high school this coming school year.
Which is a little hard to digest.. I still remember the day she was born when I finally grasped the concept of what being a "big sister" meant. I remember going to the hospital and getting to see her tiny little self for the first time... and I remember treating her like she was my real life baby doll. I loved helping take care of her. I was ALL about the big sister role.

Over the past few years I've realized how much of an influence an older sibling really has on their younger sibling's life. Mal asks me for advice on so many things, and since I've been away in college the past few years it's been hard missing out on a lot of her big events.

One of which is her senior pictures this weekend.

My parents are photographers, as most of you know, and so when it comes to Senior Portraits... these are a big deal in our home. As in, we prepared for these for months now. Finding all of her outfits, getting all of her accessories FOR the outfits, and planning it all out.

We believe having Senior Portraits taken is one of the highlights of Senior year. And since my dad does it for a profession... we have never really experienced the whole excitement of going somewhere to have OUR portraits taken, since we can just do it ourselves in the studio. :)

So for senior year, Mama and Daddy let us choose a photographer whose work we loved. I chose Kirk Voclain my senior year, an outstanding photographer in Houma, LA and we made a family trip out of it. It was so fun to actually be able to experience having my portrait taken by someone other than my Daddy... and having new stuff done on backgrounds other than the one's I've always been photographed on. I know it sounds weird, but Senior year is all about experiences.. and Senior Portraits are one of those things I wanted to experience like everyone else gets to... so that's why we went somewhere else. And it was SO much fun.

Well this weekend Mallory is up in Tennessee having her Senior Portrait Experience, and I'm absolutely devastated that I don't get to be a part of such a momentous occasion. She's been the little sister that has been there for EVERYTHING for me. And I don't get to be there for her, with classes and work it just wasn't feasible this time. (Responsibility stinks.) So I'm stalking instagram to see the pictures they post from the big trip this weekend... and anxiously await seeing her portraits when they're finished, I know they'll look AMAZING.

But above all else, I'm looking forward to this exciting time in her life. Senior year of high school was one of my favorite years. Touring and applying to colleges, ruling the school, Homecoming Court, Senior nights, Senior Festivities, and living it up on the weekends with friends... what's not to love? I was so carefree as opposed to now. And I'm looking forward to Mallory making all of these great memories at my Alma Mater too.

Boom. There's my sappy post.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Family Time

It's finally here!
Thanksgiving Break and all of its glory!
I'm so excited to spend time with my family this week.
Between work, school, and spending time with friends... I'm hardly ever home anymore.
Basically, I just love Athens so much I don't want to leave it too often. ;)

So we're heading down to South Georgia to visit with my Mama's side of the family for the next 5 days.

AND exciting news,
We finally took an updated family portrait.
My parents are photographers.. but we hardly ever take the time to take pictures of our OWN family.
So we did on North Campus at UGA last Sunday and I've been dying to post them. I just love North Campus in the fall.. the leaves are absolutely gorgeous, so I'm glad we were able to snag a portrait while they were so pretty

I'm definitely looking forward to having some time to blog over the break since I've become quite the slacker. I have a lot to catch you all up on!
