#leakeywedding

Saturday I went to Jamie and Adam's BEAUTIFUL wedding.
Pictures don't even do it justice.
It was THE wedding of the summer, if you ask me ;) , and every last detail was pinterest-worthy perfection.

She was stunning.
I am in love with her dress, her hair, everything.. but did we expect anything less? Jamie is beautiful! And I'm so happy for her and Adam. Their love for each other is just the sweetest.

And since Jamie invited some fellow bloggers to the wedding.. we had a blast sharing a table and getting to know each other in real life. Blogging. is. Awesome. These girls are all so wonderful!

December

Well, December sure came and went.
Is it just me, or does Christmas time come and go faster and faster with age?
The older I get the more it seems to be just a blur.
As soon as it finally starts to feel like Christmas, it seems to be over.
And as a result... I have completely neglected to do any blogposts.

So as a New Year's goal, I hope to post more often than I have been. My fall blog posting was just pitiful.

Anyways... here's a break down of what all I've been doing over the past month.

We had Sarah's bachelorette party in Athens, and painted some lovely Christmas paintings. Then later in the month we had Sarah's rehearsal dinner, which was absolutely delicious. And thank you to Brice for making a silly face in our picture together. ;)

Then it was wedding time... and Sarah officially became a Mrs!! The wedding was gorgeous... I can't wait for you all to see her post about it soon.

The days we were actually home over Christmas break were all spent by the fireplace, in pajamas... and watching Grey's Anatomy. Me and mama are addicted, and feel as though we could be surgeons since we've been watching so many hours of it here lately. ;)

That's basically a brief sum of my December festivities. I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas with your families.. and that you rang in 2013 with a bang!

Some Thoughts.

Lately I've been really drawn to my bible, and the book When God Writes Your Love Story.
It's like the two have been laying in the corner of my room just staring at me, begging me to open them up and feast my eyes on their pages.

So I have.
And it's amazing how fulfilling the words on those pages has been.

I read When God Writes Your Love Story (by Leslie and Eric Ludy) at the beginning of the year, but re-reading it has shed light on so many things I missed the first go round.

It seems like we all focus so much on planning our future wedding, laying out EVERY single detail, except really focusing on what the Lord wants for us in the most important part of our wedding day: our spouse.

We spend how much time pinning wedding ideas on Pinterest? Yet, how much time do we actually spend praying for our future spouse? Or time preparing our heart for them?

How can we expect a Prince Charming, when we ourselves don't live up to these standards we want in a partner. It's so important to be the person you are looking for, and I feel like that's one of those common sense ideas that we so easily forget. How do you find it acceptable to be searching for this perfect guy, when you yourself aren't living up to the same standards?

The book has a chapter that really focuses on praying for your future spouse, and it said to consider the fact that your spouse is out there somewhere, right this second. Crazy to think about, right? It just makes my heart swell with so much love thinking that my husband is walking around right now, and someday I'll meet him. :) Cheesy, but seriously, it's such a lovely thought. It makes it that much more REAL, of why it's so important to be conscious of decisions we make in relationships now.

I just had to share all of my little thoughts from the week.
Hope you all are doing just peachy on this fine Wednesday evening!

MOH.

I've been waiting to post about this..
until Sarah got her wedding update posted on her blog.
Not this past weekend, but the weekend before Sarah came to visit me in Athens for a girl's weekend together.

When she got here Friday night, we got her stuff inside and then she immediately handed me an envelope. Inside was this...
and of course I said YES!!!!
I am SO, SO honored to be apart of Sarah's wedding day. It's going to be so special, and I'm looking forward to helping her get ready for her big day. Ahh!! I still can't believe she's getting married!!! December needs to hurry up, because I am just TOO dang excited.
The end.

The weekend she came was absolutely dreary weather wise. #notcoolathens
So we ended up being lazy, shopping, eating, napping... and the likes.
And no trip to Athens is complete with out a visit to the Varsity for an Onion Ring fix.

SOOO.. this is my first time really being in a wedding, and being Maid of Honor is a legit honor.  So if you've been in a wedding please, please, pleeeease share some tips for me! I need to do my duties and help make her big day as special as it can be!!!

I saw this sweet video on facebook today, and my heart is just so warm. I want a video like this of me and my future husband! It's so sweet! Take a looksie and let me know what you think!

Weekend Summary

One of my favorite movies of all time is Singin' in The Rain, I grew up watching musicals and old movies at my grandparents house and that is by far my favorite (along with The Sound of Music). Friday night me and my grandmother went to see the play version of Singin in the Rain at a local theater and it was so good! I was amazed at how well they managed to pull it off, it even rained on stage. :)
Then Saturday I went to a wedding for a friend from high school that graduated with me. It was my first wedding for someone I've graduated with and it just was so weird! I don't feel like I'm old enough to be getting married! But the wedding was beautiful, And Caitlin and her fiance.. now husband.. love the office so their recessional was an arrangement of the office theme song! It made me and Ally so happy. I know it might sound tacky, but the way it was arranged on the piano was really pretty, you would've never known it was a tv show's theme song.
After the wedding and reception I went home to grab some things before heading up to the lake to meet my family and found flowers and a sweet card on my doorstep!
My sweet friend/ex-boyfriend Patrick surprised me with them since I've had a rough week at school! He is such a sweetheart :)

Then I loaded up the car and hit the road to get my butt on the lake! And it was SUCH a wonderful weekend. Perfect lake weather! We whipped out our marvelous floaty chairs and soaked up the sun.
Sunday our boat broke down in the middle of the lake, right when we were about to swap riders on the tube. Well.. we called EVERYONE who was back on the dock and no one would answer because they were too busy talking, and floating in the water. So we had to flag some people down and get them to give 2 of us a ride back to our dock so we could get the jet ski and tow our boat back. Well, I was volunteered to ride with these strangers (along with my friend pT) and let me just say, boat people are some of the nicest people around. You would never just hop in a car with anybody if your car broke down, but when your boat breaks down you just flag anyone over to ask for help. I've decided anyone who is a boater is nice. (there may be a few exceptions) but I love how on the lake you just wave to everyone you pass. Anyways.. thanks to those sweet people who drove us back to our dock! And next time hopefully our friends and family on the dock will ANSWER their phones.

And Mama with our delicious dinner to end a long day on the lake :)

Hope everyone else had a great labor day weekend!
